Negotiator

The position of negotiator, as a member of the labour relations team, varies according to the different stages in the negotiation process, namely, the preparation, the negotiation sessions, and the application and interpretation of collective agreements between rounds. At this stage of the negotiation process following the signing of the agreements in principle, the incumbent will draft the official text of the collective agreement in French in close collaboration with representatives of the Ministère de l'Éducation, de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MEESR). The incumbent will also provide training sessions to school boards on the content of the collective agreement.
 
 At the end of the negotiations round, the incumbent performs the following duties and responsibilities:
 •Provide guidance in the interpretation and application of the collective agreement to thedirectors and coordinators of human resources of English-language school boards.
 •Identify professional development needs of human resource teams and participate in theplanning and organization of activities to meet those needs.
 •Participate in meetings of the directors and coordinators of human resources of schoolboards.
 •Be apprised of applicable arbitration decisions.
 •Advise the Director of Labour Relations.
